Social Media Share Links for your website / blog

Social bookmarking and networking sites is a way for you to promote your website. Some of the services exchange thousands of links and this can be very important for you as the main source of getting the traffic to your site / blog. To encourage more people to share your links, just include a set of links at the bottom of your posts.

What options do I have in implementing social media links?

There are plenty of plug-ins and services which can do this for you but you are limited at some point and the implementation is not always the easiest task to do. If you would like to have a full control you can place the links manually.

In this post, I’ve written the WordPress codes for the largest social bookmarking and networking sites out there. If you need to implement it on your site and you are not using the WordPress, just follow the pattern.

The thing you should remember is, if you include the images into your excerpts, you need to remove them from the links <?php the_excerpt(); ?>.

You don´t want to use all of the at once. It is just not helping you at all. Leaving to your visitors less links does mean that you concentrate and target important for you social media services and you are more likely to have better results doing so. Lets say that you link to 20 services and on each of them your site is bookmarked 1–3 times. Having a few options, you can have 40+ bookmarks on each social media service (not 1-3).
